EVER THE LAND

The film has recently finished postproduction and will soon begin its national and international film festival release. It explores the sublime bond between people and their land through a landmark architectural undertaking by one of New Zealand’s most passionately independent Māori tribes, Ngāi Tūhoe.

Iti

{Suite} Gallery is pleased to announce the debut of a collaborative exhibition of Tame Iti and Birgit Krippner.

Tame Iti is well known as a a high profile Tūhoe Māori. He will exhibit his most recent paintings. Birgit, a Wellington based photographer who has shown her work nationally and internationally over the last few years, will be showing her latest photographs of Tame Iti and Te Urewera of Tūhoe nation. Both artists will attend the opening.

(Meaning of Iti: Small but/and large. Tūhoe meaning: Humbleness. In background.)

​Private View: Since June 5th 2011, I’ve been working on a project, photographing New Zealand artists and gallery owners in their space. Some of these artists are well known and established, some others are new and emerging talents.
